Ladies and gentlemen ---start your inventive engines! Lowell’s textile history and old-time “pinewood” derbies inspire this public art spectacle. Come out for a day at the races when rolling art mobiles with spools for wheels speed down a 40-foot track built by artists, youth, and community members. Cars above created by youth at Girls Inc., Lowell, MA. Eligibility: Anyone who wants to create a SPOOL 500 vehicle can participate! Conditions: Vehicles must
be made using textile spools for wheels How to get started: Come on down to the Revolving Museum and pick up your spools! We have a few to choose from...take them home and start creating! Downloadable images: The images at left and below are SPOOL 500 vehicles and banners created by youth and community members. All images are 350 dpi, ©2004 Meghan Kriegel.
