Big Head
The "Big Head" is a public artwork that serves as a museum icon and a symbol for individual creative thinking and community action. This 12’ high metal armature changes appearance every 6 months with a new look created by local artists and Revolving Museum students.
The sculpture is influenced in part by the "Cabezota," (meaning big head) found primarily in Mexico and dating back to the pre-Columbian Olmec peoples. These public portraits were usually carved in the image of a national hero.
The Big Head is now located near the entrance to the Western Avenue Studios.
